When you come into Enviromart you can donate to the Australian Conservation Foundation, FNQ Wildlife Rescue or the Frog Decline Reversal Project. Just ask if you can donate and leave your loose change in one of the cans provided. Small donations can make a big difference to the sustainability of these hard-working groups who protect our local environment.
August is the time to plant watermelons and they will be ready to harvest in November when it’s hot and dry. You can plant Asian greens, ‘Green Gem’ cucumber, ‘Ceylon’ spinach, Cherry Tomatoes, Snake Beans, Red Russian Kale and a number of herbs, all year round. Use Greensmart Pots and you can still grow just about anything.
How many times a day do you boil your kettle? If you boil a full kettle in the morning and put the unused water into a thermos flask it will stay hot all day with no need to again boil. This can save a lot of energy and money too.
